The Afrikaans Language Museum and Monument (ATM) is reopening the institution on the first day of the “most beautiful month”, and can once again receive visitors in town and on the mountain. The ATM’s 45th birthday celebrations had continued with a virtual programme, that will now be combined with physical events and celebrations. The ATM also used the lockdown to do maintenance work and further train staff. There is now free access to children under 18, and a 20% discount on new annual permits until March 31 2021, and current annual permits will be extended by six months. Visitors to the monument will now also be able to view the physical exhibition of the coronavirus writing competition in the Groen Gallery, while a mobile coffee shop will have food and drinks available. Guests are welcome to take their own picnic baskets (no glass). They are open every day from 8am to 4.45pm. For more information, visit www.taalmonument.co.za
