SboNdaba Dance’s new work titled Our Mother, The Earth – Where will our children play? will be staged at the Artscape theatre on Wednesday March 20 and Thursday March 21.
Through dance, song, the spoken word, music, digital designs and videos, the production will draw attention to the rapid destruction of the natural world and the effects of the climate crisis for future generations.
SboNdaba Dance’s studio is in Observatory and dancers and management come from Southfield, Lakeside, Camps Bay, Philippi, Gugulethu, Eerste River and Khayelitsha.
A special school performance will take place on Wednesday March 20, at 11am. The other show on Wednesday March 20 is at 6pm.
On Thursday March 21, the Human Rights Day public holiday, shows are at 2pm and 6pm. Tickets cost R120, or R60 for seniors, students and children, and R30 each for school bookings and community groups with a minimum of 10 in a group.
