■ Mozart and Salieri returns to the Artscape Opera House from Friday August 24 to Saturday September 1. The adaptation of Alexander Pushkin’s short story, choreographed by Marc Goldberg, will once again be presented by Cape Town City Ballet (CTCB), for only six performances. The two-act production follows Mozart’s rumoured rivalry with court composer Antonio Salieri, and his tumultuous relationship with wife Constanze. Guest artist Maxime Quiroga, who was previously seen in CTCB’s Giselle, shares the principal role with Martin Milner, pictured, while Daniel Szybkowski and Ivan Boonzaier alternate as Salieri, opposite ballerinas Laura Bosenberg and Mariette Opperman as Constanze. Tickets cost from R120 to R280 at Computicket or Artscape dial-a-seat on 021 421 7695.
