Music recital

Soprano, Lauren Dasappa, and pianist José Dias will present a recital in the Fismer Hall, Stellenbosch, on Sunday May 26, at 4.30pm.  The versatile programme includes works by Verdi, Brahms, Debussy and Bolcom. Dasappa performs operatic roles in addition to many oratorio and Baroque works, and maintains an extensive concert repertoire, in addition to being currently engaged in creating an awareness of African classical music both nationally and internationally.  Dias obtained his BMus Honours cum laude from Stellenbosch University, specialising in solo piano performance. Dias is also currently working towards a PhD (Music) in solo performance at the University of Cape Town. Tickets are available from Computicket and at the door , and cost R140, and R100 for pensioners and students.
