A multimedia cabaret, Vincent – His Quest to Love and Be Loved, will be staged at The Masque Theatre in Muizenberg from Thursday September 14 to Saturday September 16.
The show tells of Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh’s search for love through reimagined versions of popular musical theatre, pop, rock, and jazz numbers. It is presented by Wela Kapela Productions, and performed by Daniel Anderson who will be accompanied on piano at different performances by Tersia Harley and Jacques du Plessis. Tickets cost R120. Other shows at The Masque include Tina’s Turn – A Tina Turner Tribute on Sunday September 17. Ramaine Barreiro-Lloyd, who started impersonating Tina at a young age, will be backed by a full band. Tickets cost R150 or R100 for pensioners.
Tierra Flamenca Dance Studio and Company presents Bailaora from Thursday September 21 to Sunday September 24. Dancers from beginner to professional level, flamenco guitarists, and a singer share the stage. Tickets cost R100.
A celebration of all things South African with The Joyce Chevalier Centre takes place on Friday September 29 and Saturday September 30. The Joyce Chevalier Centre provides services to adults with intellectual disabilities in the form of work activities and training in lifeskills, work habits and work skills. Their dance classes provide an afternoon of joy and movement each week. Tickets for their performance cost R100.
