Music fans can experience the unique vibe and energy of a live recording show with South Africa’s own Kruger & Tutu (KT), on Saturday August 24, at Daisy Jones, Summerhill Wines, on the outskirts of Stellenbosch.
Fans of acts such as Mumford & Sons, One Republic, U2 and Spoegwolf are in for a high-energy acoustic treat, with poetic originals and selected covers delivered in English, French and Afrikaans on a night where the audience interaction will be recorded for multi-platform release of their material.
Matt Kruger is an established French, English and Afrikaans Songwriter/Ghostwriter based in Stellenbosch, whose wife has told him in March 2023 it was time to step out and start playing his original songs to live audiences.
Warren Tutu is a talented young guitarist, singer, music teacher and drummer from Cape Town that grew up in local church music circles.
Both Warren and Matt are also Parkour coaches that coach kids together and in so doing coincidentally discovered they both loved making music. Soon Kruger & Tutu (KT) was officially born.
Things took off fast from there and led to practice sessions and then to ever more live performances at high-profile venues such as festivals & wine estates.
They have already opened shows for big names such as Sunset Sweatshop and Spoegwolf. KT are multi-instrumentalists, with Matt playing his guitar upside down (like Jimi Hendrix did), adding to the striking visual effect of two guitars, drums and blues harp in action.
Doors open 5pm, and the show starts 8pm. Tickets are R150 (general access) on Quicket, and the VIP pass is R350 (includes welcome drink, access to private backstage balcony, meet and greet with the band and canapés).
Table and seat bookings are essential WhatsApp queries to 064 968 2015 or 084 490 2895.
