The Jazz and Cheese Fondue events will continue at Delheim wine estate in Stellenbosch until Sunday August 27.
The events, hosted in conjunction with the Cape Town Music Academy (CTMA), presents a diverse line-up of local jazz talent to accompany the experience of Delheim’s cheese fondues on Sundays.
The Nick Ford Quartet will perform on Sunday July 23. The project is led by Nick Ford, 19, an electric and double bassist and composer/arranger.
On July 30, Kalahari Connection takes to the stage. This jazz and world music outfit comprises of vocalist Lungiswa Plaatjies, Lonwabo Mafani on keyboard, Bongani Sotshononda on marimba, and Stephen du Souz.
The Thembelihle Ndunjana Quartet plays on Sunday August 6, starring Thembelihle Dunjana, a pianist, teacher and improviser, from Gugulethu.
Drummer Chante Phillip will perform on Sunday August 13; while Lady Felicity and the Trumpets is set to perform on Sunday August 20. This multi-cultural Afro-soul jazz ensemble is led by vocalist Felicity Ntshangana backed by Dane Paris on drums, Georgia Jones on saxophone Brathew van Schalkwyk on keyboards and Chadleigh Gower on bass.
On Sunday August 27, Soisoi Gqeza Quartet Soi soi Gqeza (also known as Sultry Soi Soi) will entertain audiences.
Tickets cost R250 each and include a complimentary glass of gluhwein on arrival, before enjoying a cheese fondue served with bread and vegetables for dipping, followed by coffee and dessert. Book through Quicket.
