Tish Morgan and Denise Rogers will present “Hope through Hurting” – an inspirational morning where they will share their life stories, interspersed with song, on Saturday June 3, at the Somerset West Baptist Church, corner of Hendriksz and Louw streets, from 9.30am to noon.
Tish and Denise began singing together 30 years ago in their church in Gauteng. They started speaking and singing at retirement homes, women’s meetings at various churches, at outreach meetings and retreats.
Through their music they became very close friends, and in 2000 they recorded a gospel CD, In This Quiet Place, with their daughters.
They have recently both moved to the Western Cape, where they hope to promote their inspiring ministry of song and testimony. Both women have testimonies of God’s grace and healing in the face of heartache, and share a story of encouragement and hope.
Their respective stories include the death of a baby, a suicide attempt, a broken marriage and divorce, a long battle with the eating disorder bulimia, a marriage restored, and the horrific farm murder of Denise’s parents.
They share not only the tragedies of life, but how they experience joy out of sadness and restoration out of brokenness. Tish has produced and directed the Carols by Candlelight at Vergelegen Wine Estate for three years in a row – training choirs, introducing excellent soloists, using talented dancers and a group of pipers for the special well known Christmas event.
Entry is free. For more information, call Tish at 082 878 6143 or Denise at 082 777 6763.
