Helderberg Hospice Open Gardens festival is only two weeks away, and art and the art of gardening is very much the focus of this year’s beautifully curated selection of outdoor spaces.
Twenty-five people set off on a perfect Spring day from Helderberg Hospice on Thursday 28 September in convoy behind the pink Hyundai Staria MultiCab.
All were gardeners who have so generously opened their gardens to the public for this event, and volunteers who will be manning each garden, to preview and enjoy each other’s gardens.
Breathtaking views, quirky sculptures, expertly trimmed topiary, clever use of colour and texture – each of the 14 gardens offered the visitors a different expression of the garden owners’ love of gardening.
You and your family get to enjoy a whole weekend of gorgeous gardens in support of the palliative care that Helderberg Hospice renders to our community, to offer peace, comfort and dignity when it matters most.
If you spot the pink Open Gardens car, remember to SMS 31868 with your name, and where you saw it, and stand a chance to win two tickets to Open Gardens.
Maps and directions will be available from Friday October 20, at Helderberg Hospice, 21 Old Stellenbosch Road, Somerset West.
Tickets can be bought online from Helderberg Hospice website at helderberghospice.org.za/shop, and for more information, call Celéstine on 021 852 4608 or 076 062 5855.
