Fund-raising performance

Dare to care Andrew Young and Tony Drake will perform on Saturday December 16, at a fundraising event for the Animal Welfare Society Helderberg (AWS), at the Gordon’s Bay Boat Angling Club, Harbour Island, Gordon’s Bay, with doors opening at 6pm, and the show starting at 7pm. The AWS Helderberg caters for a wide area of communities – Somerset West, Strand, Gordon’s Bay, Sir Lowry’s Pass, Macassar, Eerste River and Grabouw. They receive no help from the government, and must raise all funds for the upkeep of the kennels, feed and care for stray and unwanted animals, as well as paying veterinary costs for the animals in their care. All proceeds will go to the AWS Helderberg. Andrew is an internationally-renowned recording performing artist, and has performed for Queen Elizabeth, and worked with Dionne Warwick, Gino Vannelli, Shirley Bassey, Jonathan Butler, Sir James Galway and Jose Feliciano, among others.
