Bevan Sylvester and Andrew Brown combine to present Easter in Music and Song with a ladies choir, solos and duets linked with narration by Issy Staude.
The concert takes place at the All Saints’ Anglican Church, Oak Street behind the Somerse t West Library carpark, on Sunday April 9 at 3pm.
A portion of funds raised will go to the Maureen Petersen Bursary Fund, intended to encourage aspirant young pianists from disadvantaged backgrounds.
A music teacher in Cloetesville Stellenbosch, she was an organist at All Saints’ Anglican Church. Affiliated to the Royal College of Church Music, she brought her knowledge and expertise of sacred music to her church choir and helped found the Oratorio Society, which thrived for a decade, performing many concerts in the excellent acoustics of this church.
