Opera singer Lana English will be performing in a special fund-raising gala concert for the Peninsula School Feeding Association (PSFA) at the Cape Town City Hall on Saturday October 14, at 2pm.
The concert, called Heroes, will feature soprano Sian Atterbury, soloist Victor Siljeur, classical pianist Jeremy Quickfall, cellist Dane Coetzee, singer Faried Swartz, the Masikuhle Community Orchestra with a special appearance by the Constantia Primary School Choir, and singer Moe-ain Daniels. The programme, directed by Glen Swart, will include a mixed tapestry of classics, operas, musicals and sacred classics.
“I am extremely excited to host this concert in support of PSFA and in honour of all the volunteers who tirelessly prepare the meals for the schoolchildren. I would love to write out a cheque to PSFA, but with my voice, I am able to do just that, and with this small gesture, be able to make a huge difference in one child’s life,” said Lana English.
Tickets for the Heroes gala concert cost R200 each through Quicket.
