October brings a feast of music, a Western Cape premiere and something for the younger audiences at The Drama Factory.
“We are looking forward to a bumper programme including music and a children’s show in October. It’s a perfect recipe for a feast of live performance.” says Sue Diepeveen, founder of The Drama Factory.
The October line-up is:
* Jou Ma Se … Platespeler, op Dinsdag 15 Oktober, om 7.30nm, met Kristo Zondagh, Kerry Hiles en Rob Thompson. Daar is niks wat ‘n kultuur meer bind as ‘n goeie rugbywedstryd nie, behalwe sy musiek, en in Jou Ma Se … Platespeler kyk ons na Afrikaanse musiek teen die agtergrond van veranderende tegnologie, van “seven singles” tot streaming en alles tussenin, asook die veranderinge in ons land.
Sluit aan by Kristo Zondagh, Kerry Hiles en Rob Thompson in ‘n twee-uur lange viering van SA se bestes by die Drama Factory voordat hulle hierdie vertoning op die pad na venues landwyd neem.
* My Story with the Blues, with Rob Thompson, on Thursday October 17, at 7.30pm, supported by Kerry Hiles on bass and Kristo Zondagh on drums.
Blues guitarist aficionado Rob Thompson shares a personal journey in discovering this enigmatic movement in music. Covering Latin influences like Carlos Santana, the Story delves deeper with artist such as B.B. King and Little Walter, to more contemporary artists like Dan Patlansky and original compositions.
* Skoonlief & Die Ondier, kinderteater om Saterdag 19 Oktober, om 3nm, met Ankia Erasmus as Skoonlief en Stavros Moshonas as Die Ondier.
Elke Doring, kry sy roos. Skoonlief & Die Ondier betower gehore, jonk en oud. ‘n Bekende Verhaal van leed en lief. ‘n Gruwelike Ondier ontmoet ‘n beeldskone hartedief.
