There will be a fundraiser event called “Bringing Bruce Back” at Triggerfish, Paardevlei, Somerset West, on Friday August 17, at 6.30pm.
Bringing Bruce back is a cause going to a furry friend in need of a major surgery costing R28 000 for both legs, and this surgery will enable Bruce to walk with no pain or struggle.
Bruce has wonderful parents who would rather make a plan than put him to sleep and Triggerfish Brewery came on board to hosting the event for him, Gordon’s Bay Animal Welfare and Petpals.
The organisers are hoping to exceed their fundraising target, which is R30 000, and they will donate any additional income to Helderberg Animal Welfare (Bruce’s first home, before he found his “forever” family), and Petpals.
There will be an auction on the night, with wonderful donated prizes.
These include custom-made jewelry from Shelly Taylor Designs and Luna Lou; a Utilities Fitness sponsorship of protein, an exercise ball and bands; various wines; a master tour, master tasting and beer from CBC; Kelly Rossiter photography vouchers; breakfast at the Old Oak restaurant in the Somerset West nature reserve; not-yet released to the public Floating Dutchman Cape Rum; the best T-shirts in town; Mathsman membership for one year (for Grade 10 and older pupils); tattoo vouchers from Tatoolya; an aloe vera skin product hamper; a biltong hamper from Much More Munch; Segway tours at Helderberg Plaas from WildX Adventures Helderberg; a gel overlay voucher from BellaMia Nail Specialists in Strand; ceramics from Jax Frost Pottery, and an artwork from Lisa-Marie Myburgh.
Triggerfish will also donate R2 for every beer sold.
Email megan@tfbr.co.za if you would like to get involved, donate or ask any questions.
The cover charge is R50, and pre-sale tickets will be available from Laila Kossmann, Triggerfish, Megan or Paul Martin.
Donations are welcome and the drop off point will be at Triggerfish Brewery.
