Artists society meeting postponed

The Western Cape Artists Society has postponed its monthly demonstration meeting, to Thursday April 16, at the Somerset West library hall, at 6pm for 6.30pm. Visitors are welcome, and members pay R20, and non-members pay R30. Tea and coffee will be served. The guest speaker is Peter Spence, a restorer of oil paintings. For the past 30 years he has operated from his smallholding home at Somerset West. He began his career as a student, training for five years at The South East Conservation Center, Sussex, England. In 1984 he immigrated to South Africa. He is well known for handling corporate and private collections throughout South Africa – working on paintings by Irma Stern, Pierneef and many other major South African old masters.  He is available to advise and assist in assessing the condition of your art collection.
