Home to some of the country’s finest art collections and a growing number of local and international art enthusiasts, Art Franschhoek came into being, and was introduced to the public towardsthe end of last year.
During October and November, visitors to the valley will be treated to a plethora of art, as Franschhoek’s many galleries and resident artists showcase their finest works.
As part of the Art in Clay section of the festival, be mesmerised by ceramics created by renowned ceramicist David Walters and his daughter Sarah.
Embark on a journey of art discovery with one of South Africa’s greatest masters, Jacob Hendrik Pierneef, at the La Motte Museum.
The Pierneef Heritage Collection consists of 44 artworks as well as personal memorabilia. Moór Gallery Franschhoek will play host to an exhibition titled This Place – This Space.
Curated by Candice Cruse and Julia Meintjes, the exhibition sets about challenging viewers, while dealing with the artists’ responses to our complex country and society.
Appreciate art at its most vulnerable with an evening sculpture walk at Grand Provence. Ebony, with its exquisite displays of fine arts, sculptures and ceramics, will host no less than five exhibitions in their gallery.
